A bit of a detective story and a bit of a western. But above all, Grzegorz Dębowsky’s debut feature Next to Nothing is a gripping social drama presenting a realistic picture of the contemporary Polish countryside. The film gained additional relevance during the farmers’ protests.

Tight-knit social drama set in the contemporary Polish countryside. A group of farmers organizes a protest outside the home of a politician who, contrary to previous promises, voted against their interests. At the same time, the body of one of the local farmers is discovered. Everyone suspects the protest leader, Jarek, even though the deceased was his closest friend. Jarek begins his own investigation, which leads him to uncover the true reasons behind the death and, in the process, reassess the attitudes of those around him.
