Diana Dąbrowska
Artistic director of the 14th edition of the festival. A film expert from Łódź, a film critic, cultural animator, and organizer of many events and film reviews. She has published in Filmweb, the KINO Monthly, Kultura Liberalna, Ekranów, Stopklatka, Studia Filmoznawcze, and in collective volumes. Co-editor of scientific publications (together with Dr. Anna Miller-Klejsa) “Italian Cinema after 1980” (University of Łódź Publishing House, 2018). Winner of the “Krytyk Mówi” competition during the 5th edition of the Kamera Akcja Festival in Łódź (2014) and the Leopold Staff Literary Award (2018) for cultivating Italian culture with adapted cinema. In 2019, nominated for the Polish Film Institute Award in the film criticism category. Winner of 2nd place in the prestigious Competition for the Krzysztof Mętrak for young film critics (2020) and the Audience Award in the National Speakers Competition organized by the Polish Federation of Film Discussion Clubs. With the editorship of the bilingual chapter of “Gazzetta Italia” she develops the project “As Long as There is Cinema, There is Hope/ Finché c’è Cinema, c’è speranza” (texts, interviews and video lectures), which is a reminiscence of Italian cinematography – its application, but also less known trends, works, creators and creative. Since 2019, with the magical space of Sokołowska – she has been the substantive and organizational head of the historic Kinoteater Zdrowie and the film festival “Hommage a Kieślowski”.
