Marcela Paniak
Photographer, archivist and Doctor of Arts, she graduated in Photography from the Film School in Łódź, where she teaches archival photography. She is a co-founder of the Viva Archiva! Foundation, dedicated to the creative use of photographic and film archives. She has worked, among others, at the National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute and in community and foundation archives. Her artistic practice explores themes of memory, the archive, history, identity, and the very status of the photographic image. A Polish artist nominated as part of the international photography festival Les Rencontres d’Arles, she maintains connections with the artistic community in Paris and throughout France.
